DeSoto WEB Services is the natural evolution of C&M Computer Services, a spin-off of HostU Data and Network Services established in 1987. In the early 90s, C&M established one of the first BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) with a newslink from the net in 1994, a predecessor to what we refer to as the internet today. We also established a system called R.O.S.E. (remote offices served electronically) and one of the eariler users of our system was the DeSoto Literacy Council for their remote learning system.
Being introduced to the internet in late 1994 with the first look at a graphical page (one of only a handful at the time) and we were hooked. Our first adventure was to estabish DeSoto Online, the first online dialup internet in DeSoto County. This was in 1995 and also launched our web design and hosting services. This was later moved to Tate County and was known as TDI (Tate-DeSoto Internet). This grew rapidly and within a year was purchased by a (then) less known company, now known as Cellular South aka Cspire Wireless. We later relocated in Hernando, Mississippi on the famous Hernando Square in 2006 and focused on Web Design, Hosting, Domain Services and Email.
With our customer base qrowing even more with many not so near by and with the need of automation, we decided to go virtual in July 2011 with all our services, this included offices, support, personnel and billing. Our customers now enjoy the benefit of not having to use their valuable time coming to us - we come to them directly or virtually!
